N.J. Court Upholds Unicover Defense Verdict

TRENTON, N.J. - A New Jersey appellate court has upheld a defense verdict rendered in favor of Aon Corp. in a case involving the Unicover workers' compensation reinsurance pool, ruling that the trial court did not err in excluding evidence of a related arbitration award. ReliaStar Life Insurance Co. v. Aon Corp., et al., No. A-4484-08T2 (N.J. Super. Ct., App. Div.).
The Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, ruled that the award was not relevant to this litigation because the broker's actions in selling Unicover reinsurance were not at issue in that arbitration.
