NEW YORK - In a new complaint, White Mountains Reinsurance Company of America asserts that it is not liable to pay $2.1 million to Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. for a 2007 settlement of asbestos exposure claims. White Mountains Reinsurance Company of America v. Travelers Casualty and Surety Co., No. 11-390 (S.D. N.Y.).
Travelers removed the suit, which had been originally filed in the New York County Superior Court, to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Jan. 19.
