R&Q Liable for Asbestos Settlement, First State Contends

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - First State Insurance Co. is suing R&Q Reinsurance Co. for more than $900,000 in reinsurance proceeds, seeking reimbursement for a 2008 settlement of asbestos injury claims. First State Insurance Co. v. R&Q Reinsurance Co., No. 11-46 (D. Conn.)

The complaint, originally filed in the Hartford Superior Court, was removed by R&Q to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut on Jan. 7 and is now before Judge Janet C. Hall.
