Alliant Breached Duty Under Reinsurance Intermediary Act, AMIC Contends

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Alabama Municipal Insurance Corp., in its opposition to Alliant Insurance Services Inc.'s motion for summary judgment, asserts that Alliant breached its duty as a "reinsurance intermediary-manager" by failing to properly transmit $1.88 million in losses to reinsurers. Alabama Municipal Insurance Corp. v. Alliant Insurance Services Inc., No. 2:09-928 (M.D. Ala.).

In a Nov. 22 brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, AMIC contends that the Alabama Reinsurance Intermediary Act defined Alliant's obligations to AMIC.
