PHILADELPHIA - A cedent has asked a federal judge to compel Global Reinsurance Corporation of America to produce discovery in a dispute over reinsurance coverage for underlying asbestos bodily injury claims. Pacific Employers Insurance Co. v. Global Reinsurance Corporation of America, No. 09-06055 (E.D. Pa.).

In its Oct. 22 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Pacific Employers Insurance Co. asserts that the requests for information concerning Global's late notice defense and how the reinsurer interpreted the terms of the reinsurance contract are highly relevant.
