MGA Fires Back in $1.88 Million Claims Mishandling Suit

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Managing general agent Alliant Insurance Services Inc. has responded to allegations that it mishandled $1.88 million in reinsurance claims by filing counterclaims of fraud and deceit against Alabama Municipal Insurance Corp. Alabama Municipal Insurance Corp. v. Alliant Insurance Services Inc., No. 2:09-928 (M.D. Ala.).

In a brief filed June 17, Alliant asserts that AMIC agreed that it would not submit additional claims under a reinsurance policy issued by Lloyd's of London and that Alliant relied upon this agreement to its detriment.
