Guy Carpenter Sues Lockton for $1.9 Million in Brokerage

NEW YORK - Guy Carpenter & Co. has sued a competitor for $1.852 million in brokerage arising from its placement of property reinsurance contracts for two insurers. Guy Carpenter & Company LLC v. Lockton Re LP, et al., No. 10-4932 (S.D. N.Y.).
The complaint was filed on June 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Lockton Re LP and Lockton Insurance Agency Inc. Lockton is the replacement broker for the two insurers and is wrongfully retaining Guy Carpenter's brokerage, according to the suit.
