JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Florida federal judge has confirmed an arbitration award requiring First Automotive Insurance Risk Retention Group to pay Northbrook Indemnity Co. $521,811 in attorneys fees and costs. First Automotive Services Corp. v. First Colonial Ins. Co., 3:07-cv-00682 (M.D. Fla.).
Judge Timothy J. Corrigan of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that the award was not procured by corruption or undue means or that the arbitrators exceeded their powers.
