NEW YORK - A New York federal judge has refused to rewrite an arbitration agreement to impose a defined process for umpire selection, finding that the agreement already sets forth a clear method for appointing an umpire. R.A. Wilson & Associates Ltd. v. Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's London, No. 10-2232 (E.D. N.Y.).
On May 26, Judge Joanna Seybert of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York denied R.A. Wilson & Associates Ltd.'s motion for a preliminary injunction against Certain Underwriters of Lloyd's London.
