HARTFORD, Conn. - A Connecticut federal judge has overruled Gettysburg National Indemnity (SAC) Ltd.'s objection to an order requiring the reinsurer to post $660,389 in pre-pleading security in a reinsurance contract dispute. Arrowood Surplus Lines Insurance Co. v. Gettysburg National Indemnity (SAC) Ltd., No. 3:09-972 (D. Conn.).
On May 10, Judge Janet C. Hall of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut ruled that the April 6 ruling by Magistrate Judge Holly B. Fitzsimmons was neither clearly erroneous nor contrary to law.
