Court Refuses to Reconsider Vacatur of Attorney Fee Award

CHICAGO - An Illinois appellate court on April 15 refused to reconsider its decision to vacate a portion of an arbitration award granting attorneys' fees to Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co. Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co., et al. v. Global Reinsurance Corporation of America, No. 08-42242 (Ill. App., 1st Div.).

In a March 15 ruling, the Illinois Court of Appeals, 1st Division, ruled that the award of attorneys' fees violated the Illinois Insurance Code.
