PHILADELPHIA - A Pennsylvania federal judge has added $8.2 million in interest to a $24 million verdict rendered in favor of United National Insurance Co. and against Aon Ltd., resulting in a total judgment of $32,172,110.59. United National Insurance Co., et al. v. Aon Ltd., et al., No. 04-CV-539, E.D. Pa.).
In December, a jury found that Aon caused United National to suffer massive damages by withholding key information in marketing an insurance program to an Italian reinsurer. The added interest, awarded on July 24 by Senior Judge Louis H. Pollak, was calculated at the statutory rate of 6 percent …
