Aon Seeks to Enjoin TIG From Proceeding Against it in California

DALLAS - A reinsurance broker seeks to prevent TIG Insurance Co. from proceeding with a California lawsuit arising out of a 1998 reinsurance transaction, asserting that the claims were previously decided in Texas federal court. Aon Re v. TIG Insurance Co., No. 09-0300 (N.D. Texas).

In a Feb. 17 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Aon Re Inc. asserts that temporary and permanent injunctions are necessary because the California court has not yet addressed the preclusion issue and there is no guarantee that it ever will.
