JACKSON, Miss. - Former board members of a windstorm coverage association who are accused of failing to obtain adequate reinsurance have moved to dismiss the plaintiffs' claim for declaratory judgment, asserting that no ripe controversy exists. Association Casualty Insurance Co. v. Allstate Insurance Co., No. 09-24 (S.D. Miss.).

In a Feb. 24 motion, Allstate Insurance Co., Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance, Nationwide Insurance Co., State Farm Insurance Co., and The St. Paul Travelers Companies further assert that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi lacks jurisdiction over the lawsuit, filed by members of the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting Association …
