ProNational, AXA Battle Over $1.7 Million

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - ProNational Insurance Co. is suing AXA Liabilities Managers Inc. for more than $1.7 million in reinsurance proceeds for the settlement of an underlying medical malpractice claim. ProNational Insurance Co. v. AXA Liabilities Managers Inc., No. 08-02022 (N.D. Ala.).

AXA LM on Nov. 3 asked U.S. District Judge Paul W. Greene of the Northern District of Alabama to stay the action and compel arbitration. AXA LM removed the action, originally filed in the Jefferson County (Ala.) Circuit Court, to federal court in October.
