Maintenance Worker Says that Safety-Kleen's Parts Washer Caused Illness

MARSHALL, Texas -- A recently filed benzene lawsuit has named Safety-Kleen Systems as a defendant, arguing that the defendant's parts washer caused the plaintiff to develop myelodysplastic syndrome. Foray, et al. v. Safety-Kleen Systems Inc., et al., No. 08-412 (E.D. Texas).

The Oct. 24 complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

According to the plaintiffs, Brian Foray's exposure to benzene occurred while he worked as a mechanic and maintenance worker for nearly 20 years.

The lawsuit claims that Foray used Safety-Kleen's parts washer, which contained benzene.
