Defendants Exposed Former Painter to 'Deadly Situation,' Complaint Says

WHEATON, Ill. -- The widow of a former painter has filed a benzene action in Illinois state court, contending that the manufacturers and suppliers of the paint products breached a duty to her late husband. Langreder, et al. v. The Glidden Co., et al., No. 2008L000524 (Ill. 18th Jud. Cir. Ct., DuPage Cty.).

The lawsuit, filed in the Illinois Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court for DuPage County, says that the defendants owed a duty to the decedent to warn that the products that were placed in the stream of commerce could cause injury, such as leukemia.
