NEW ORLEANS -- Louisiana benzene plaintiffs have filed an amended complaint in accordance with a court order that gave the claimants 15 days to amend their complaint with proper specificity as to their fraud and exemplary damage claims. Bishop, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 07-2832 (E.D. La.).

The amended complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, cites several studies the plaintiffs claim notified the defendants that exposure to benzene could cause injury.
