LINCOLN, Neb. -- Four more plaintiffs have asserted claims in federal court grounded in allegations that exposure to benzene at a tire plant resulted in their development of various cancers. Hauptmeier, et al., v. Barton Solvents Inc., et al., No. 08-187 (D. Neb.).

On April 24, married couples James and Jean Hauptmeier and Sidney and Sandra Whigham filed their complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, contending that James and Sidney were wrongfully exposed to benzene while working at Goodyear Tire Plant.
