Settlements Reached in Remaining 28 Sugar Creek Benzene Lawsuits

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Parties involved in 28 Missouri benzene cases have reached a confidential settlement just days before another trial was scheduled to begin, sources confirmed to HarrisMartin.
In a joint statement released March 27, the parties said "BP and the plaintiffs have reached agreement to resolve all pending lawsuits brought by persons claiming to have been injured by operations of the Amoco Sugar Creek Refinery in Sugar Creek, Missouri that closed in 1982.
