Parties Reach Settlement in Benzene Lawsuit Brought by Janitor

INDIANAPOLIS -- Parties involved in a janitor's benzene lawsuit have reached a confidential settlement, sources told HarrisMartin. Goodpaster v. Correlated Products, et al., No. 06-01638 (S.D. Ind.).

The settlement was reached on Jan. 15 according to an order entered in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

The case had been scheduled for trial in October 2008.

Plaintiff Melvin Goodpaster claimed that his work as a janitor at an education facility required him to work with floor care products and other benzene-containing cleaning solvents. Goodpaster specifically named Huntolene Dust Mop Treatment, Showcase Polyurethane Gym Floor Finish, Seal-O-Solv …
