BATON ROUGE, La. -- Defendants who were unsuccessful in their attempts to convince a federal court that benzene plaintiffs could not bring their claims under the Jones Act has asked the court to reconsider their removal. Parent Jr., et al. v. Murphy Exploration & Production Co., et al., No. 07-446-C (M.D. La.).

On Jan. 25, the defendants filed a motion for reconsideration of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana's order remanding the claims.
