LOS ANGELES -- A California state court will allow a plaintiff's expert to express his opinion during trial that benzene exposure causes non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, sources told HarrisMartin. Garcia, et al. v. Allied Diagnostic Material, et al., No. BC310867 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The Los Angeles County Superior Court denied defense challenges to the admissibility of testimony from Robert Harrison, M.D., M.P.H., on Jan. 9 after a one-day hearing, sources said.

Dr. Harrison, a professor of occupational medicine at the University of California in San Francisco, had submitted a 230-page declaration in support of his opinion that organic solvents …
