Delaware Jury Enters $3.4 Million Verdict Against Premises Defendant

WILMINGTON, Del. -- A Delaware jury has awarded $3,426,166.28 million to a former millwright who contends his acute myelogenous leukemia was caused by benzene exposure. Connie Gates v. Texaco, Inc., et al., No. 05C-05-043 RRC (Del. Super. Ct., New Castle Cty.).
A Superior Court for New Castle County jury found on Oct. 31 that premises defendant Texaco Inc. was liable for the plaintiff's injuries after a trial overseen by Judge Richard Cooch.
