EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- An Illinois plaintiff who resides near a gasoline pipeline contends that those overseeing the line were negligent in its maintenance, causing the line to leak benzene-containing gasoline into the plaintiff's living area. Schulte, et al. v. Apex Oil Co., Inc., et al., No. 07-L-629 (Ill. 3rd Jud. Cir. Ct., Madison Cty.).
In the July 13 lawsuit filed in the Illinois Third Judicial Circuit Court for Madison County, plaintiff Don Schulte contends that he developed acute myelogenous leukemia as a result of his exposure to benzene.
