JACKSON, Mo. -- A 26-year old Missouri benzene plaintiff has settled his acute lymphoblastic leukemia claims days before trial in the Circuit Court for Jackson County was scheduled to begin, sources told HarrisMartin. Reed v. BP Corporation North America Inc., et al., No. 04cv209341 (Mo. Cir. Ct., Jackson Cty., Div. 16).
Counsel for Sean Reed told HarrisMartin that "in order to avoid protracted and costly litigation, the parties have agreed to settle the Sean Reed case for an undisclosed amount. Final terms of the agreement are still being discussed by the parties. The settlement is not an admission of liability …
