NEW ORLEANS -- A Louisiana lawsuit contends that long-term exposure to benzene adversely impacts marrow and bone production and that the defendants named in the complaint knew of these effects. Bishop, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 07-02832 (E.D. La.).
The May 10 lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and contends that exposure to several benzene-containing products has caused a former pipefitter's multiple myeloma.
