Class Action Complaint Says Hydrocarbon Products in Drinking Water

BELLE CHASSE, La. -- Louisiana residents have filed a class action lawsuit, contending that those monitoring drinking water in the town allowed harmful hydrocarbon products into the water. Phillips, et al. v. Severn Trent Environmental Services, et al., No. 54-846 (La. 25th Jud. Dist. Ct., Parish of Plaquemines).

According to the complaint filed in the 25th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Plaquemines, contamination of the water occurred approximately on May 15, when carbon tetrachloride and benzine, a liquid mixture of hydrocarbons.
