SEATTLE - A judge overseeing a Washington benzene case has awarded summary judgment to approximately 10 defendants, some of which had challenged the lawsuit on product identification grounds. Smith, et al. v. 3M Company, et al., No. 06-2-10994-5 (Wash. Super. Ct., King Cty.).
The orders were entered by Judge Mary Yu of the Washington Superior Court for King County on June 8 and 21 and granted the majority of the summary judgment motions. Judge Yu did allow some claims to proceed at this point.
