TULSA, Okla. -- Two benzene defendants have been dismissed from a complaint which contends that exposure to benzene caused various diseases, including acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Shaw, et al. v. Conoco Inc., et al., No. 05-67 (N.D. Okla.).
On Aug. 8, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma entered an order dismissing defendants Conoco and Phillips Petroleum Co. from Lola Fae Shaw's complaint.
Shaw filed the lawsuit on behalf of her husband, Woodrow, who she claims died as a result of AML and aplastic anemia. Woodrow's injuries arose after years of exposure to benzene while employed at …
