BALTIMORE -- A former auto repair mechanic and painter has sued a number of paint manufacturers and distributors, contending that the benzene-containing products are responsible for his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Jenkins v. The Brooklyn/Progressive Auto Paint Group, et al., No. 24-C-06-005666 (Md. Cir. Ct., Baltimore City).
The complaint was filed July 6 in the Maryland Circuit Court for Baltimore City and asserts causes of action for strict products liability, breach of warranty and negligence.
