WILMINGTON, Del. -- A Maryland resident is the latest to file a benzene action in Delaware, contending that his wife developed acute myelogenous leukemia after years of being exposed to benzene at a chemical plant. Herring, et al. v. Ashland Inc., et al., No. n/a (Del. Super. Ct., New Castle Cty.).
The May 26 complaint filed in the Delaware Superior Court for New Castle County joins a coordinated docket in which a trial schedule was recently outlined, calling for the work-up of an estimated 27 plaintiffs in 20 months.
