Nearly 30 Benzene Defendants Dismissed from Miss. Action

GREENVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi Circuit Court for Washington County has entered an order dismissing nearly 30 benzene defendants with prejudice. Jenkins, et al. v. First Chemical Corp., et al., No. C12004-238 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Washington Cty.).

The March 27 order comes after several of the dismissed defendants claimed in a summary judgment motion that the decedent had children, precluding his siblings from filing a wrongful death lawsuit.

The plaintiffs agreed to the dismissal order and will proceed with their claims against select defendants, sources indicated to HarrisMartin.
