Defendants Resolve Claims with Plaintiffs; Settlements Total $1.1 Million

CHICAGO -- Defendants remaining in a benzene lawsuit that was scheduled to begin trial on Nov. 28 in the Illinois 19th Judicial Circuit Court for Lake County have settled with the plaintiffs, sources told HarrisMartin. Scherer, et ux v. S & S Automotive, et al., No. 02 L 435 (Ill. 19th Jud. Cir. Ct., Lake Cty.).

Sources indicated that plaintiffs Robert and Melanie Scherer received approximately $1.1 million total in settlements.
