ABERDEEN, Miss. -- Several defendants have moved to dismiss a benzene lawsuit, arguing that plaintiffs failed to comply with a court order to replead with greater particularity. Simmons, et al. v. First Chemical Corp., et al., No. 05-00002 (N.D. Miss.).

In an April 6 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, defendant ConocoPhillips Co. claims that the plaintiffs' second amended complaint is merely a 'carbon copy' of the first. Several defendants have since joined in the motion.
