LOS ANGELES -- The widow of a man alleging benzene exposure has been granted an ex parte application to become the successor in interest of her husband, effectively allowing her to execute a settlement agreement that had been reached prior to her husband's recent death. Camizzi, et al. v. Akzo Nobel Coatings, et al., No. BC289503 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

On Feb. 25, the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County signed an order granting the application, ruling that Rhode Camizzi could continue Theodore Camizzi's cause of action.
