Monsanto Moves for Summary Judgment in Roundup Case, Says Plaintiff Failed to Submit Causation Evidence

SAN FRANCISCO –– Monsanto has moved for summary judgment in a Roundup personal injury case, arguing that the plaintiffs failed to submit causation evidence in support of their claims by the court’s deadline.

In the Oct. 22 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Monsanto said that the plaintiff “has not disclose a single expert witness or report regarding specific causation.”

“Plaintiff had ample time and opportunity to satisfy her expert disclosure obligations under Rule 26(a)(2) and the Scheduling Order,” the motion said. “And honoring strict deadlines in an MDL is particularly important.”
