Louisiana Case Involving Claims of Tank Cleaner Settles

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana benzene case involving the claims of a former tanker cleaner who argued that he developed multiple myeloma as a result of exposure to benzene-containing products has settled, according to court documents. Morin, et al. v. Chevron U.S.A. Inc., et al., No. 11-45 (E.D. La.).

According to a one-page order entered in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana July 2, the action settled after “numerous discussions among the parties.”

A separate order of dismissal entered the same day stipulated that the action could be reopened if the settlement was not consummated.
