WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The United States has petitioned the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to reestablish a coordinated multidistrict litigation docket for claims connected to water contamination at Camp Lejeune, saying that the denial of approximately 4,400 administrative tort claims has prompted the filing of several FTCA actions.

In the July 3 brief, the United States argued that the Federal Tort Claims Act lawsuits contain common questions of fact about events at Camp Lejeune and that the Northern District of Georgia should oversee the reestablished MDL docket since that district is “host to the most significant source of evidence …
