Benzene Exposure Case Settles on Eve of Trial, Bringing Settlement Total to $6.3 Million




LOS ANGELES — A California case in which an auto body mechanic alleged that his cancer was caused by various benzene-containing products he used on the job has settled on the eve of trial, bringing the settlement total to $6.3 million, sources told HarrisMartin.

The case was scheduled for trial on July 2 before Judge Brad Seligman of the Alameda County (Calif.) Superior Court, with The Savogran Co. as the lone remaining defendant.

Plaintiffs reached a settlement with The Savogran Co. on June 29.
