South Carolina Federal Court Orders Parties to Conduct Jurisdictional Discovery in Butter Flavorings Suits

FLORENCE, S.C. –– A South Carolina federal court has ordered parties in several butter flavorings personal injury lawsuits to conduct “limited discovery on the issue of personal jurisdiction,” in the wake of a defense motion to dismiss the claims on jurisdiction grounds.
In a text order issued Jan. 8, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina gave the parties 90 days from the date of the order and asked both parties to file additional briefing after the discovery period.
