BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– An Alabama court has allowed plaintiffs asserting benzene claims to file a second amended complaint to substitute as a defendant an in-state company revealed during the course of jurisdictional discovery to be an affiliate of a prior defendant, according to a recent docket entry.

In a Jan. 16 motion filed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the plaintiffs asked the court for leave to file a second amended complaint, explaining that, during the course of the court-ordered jurisdictional discovery, Prisco Inc. informed the plaintiffs that “Georgia Graphics Inc. is the Prisco-affiliated entity …
