Illinois Federal Court Revises Discovery Deadlines in Benzene Case Filed by Piano Refurbisher

CHICAGO –– The Illinois federal court overseeing a benzene action has revised discovery deadlines, pushing back the close of discovery five months to January 2019, according to a recent docket entry.
In the April 16 docket entry, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted a defense motion to extend discovery deadlines, ordering that all fact discovery be completed by Sept. 28, and setting the next status hearing for May 30.
The court also asked the plaintiffs to complete expert reports by Oct. 31; defense expert reports are due by Dec. 31.
