PITTSBURGH –– A Pennsylvania federal court has denied summary judgment motions filed by both the defendants and the plaintiff in a chemical exposure suit, finding in part that the claims are not barred by collateral estoppel.

In the Aug. 17 order, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania also denied the plaintiff’s motion for partial summary judgment, concluding that the risks of handling the chemical, the presence and adequacy of warnings and the causation of the alleged injuries were all “hotly contested.”
