Printing Press Employer Among Several Defendants Named in New Pa. Solvent Exposure Suit

PITTSBURGH –– A new solvent exposure lawsuit has been filed in Pennsylvania state court, with the plaintiffs alleging that use of aromatic hydrocarbon- and chlorinated hydrocarbon-containing solvents used in the printing process caused the decedent to develop bladder cancer.

In the complaint, filed March 29 in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Allegheny County, the plaintiffs argued that the decedent’s former employer was “generally negligent, breached its duty of due care, and failed to provide Hamilton with a reasonably safe place to work.”
