Illinois Federal Court Allows Parties in Benzene Contamination Suit to Extend Settlement Execution Deadline

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. –– Parties remaining in a benzene contamination suit that reached a settlement agreement nearly one year ago have agreed to an extension of the settlement execution date, anticipating that they will finalize the documents by March 20, 2017.

In a Jan. 24 minute entry, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois noted that the parties advised the court during a Jan. 24 telephonic status conference that the finalization of the documents within the next 60 days.

Another status conference call was scheduled for Feb. 27.
