Roundup MDL Court Issues 3 Pretrial Orders; Bifurcates Proceedings, Will Address General Causation First

SAN FRANCISCO –– The court selected to oversee the national coordinated multidistrict litigation docket for personal injury claims relating to Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide has issued a number of case management orders recently, one ordering that the proceedings be bifurcated with the first phase addressing general causation.

In a Nov. 14 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said that it reached the decision after reviewing the papers filed by the parties in anticipation of the first case management conference.
