Safety-Kleen Systems Reaches Settlement Agreement with Minnesota Benzene Plaintiff

MINNEAPOLIS –– Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. has resolved benzene claims asserted against it by a former automotive mechanic and hobbyist who said that his work with Liquid Wrench caused him to develop MDS.
In a Sept. 15 letter to the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Safety-Kleen said that it had resolved the claims, but noting that the plaintiff, Lenoard Samuelson, had recently passed away and the plaintiff was working to appoint an appropriate estate representative.
“We anticipate filing appropriate dismissal documents with the Court once the process is completed,” Safety-Kleen wrote.
