JPML Creates Roundup MDL Docket, Transfers Cases to Northern District of California

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has granted a motion to create a multidistrict litigation docket for claims relating to Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, finding that centralization in the Northern District of California “will serve the convenience of the parties and witnesses and promote the just and efficient conduct of this litigation.”
In its Oct. 3 order, the JPML assigned the litigation to Judge Vince Chhabria, “a skilled jurist who has not yet had the opportunity to preside over an MDL.”
