Calif. Parties Exchange Briefing on Efforts to Bifurcate Discovery in Roundup Suit

SAN DIEGO –– A plaintiff whose Roundup-related claims are pending in a California federal court has opposed defense request to bifurcate discovery, saying that he would be prejudiced by such an order since it would increase expenses in lengthening the litigation and give Monsanto a “tactical advantage.”

In a June 28 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Monsanto moved the court to adopt a scheduling order that addresses general causation before “potentially unnecessary and burdensome discovery on secondary issues.”
